Everything went according to plan when ninth ranked Socar Petkim (12-11) defeated at home 16th ranked Pertevniyal (6-17) 75-65. Pertevniyal was ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 40-28 second half run of Socar Petkim. It was a great evening for American-DR Congolese center Bambale Osby (203-86, college: Maryland) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds. American forward Tyler Smith (201-86, college: Tennessee) helped adding 14 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists. Osby is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Socar Petkim's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Burak Can Yildizli (202-94) responded with 12 points and 9 rebounds and center Emircan Kosut (216-95) scored 15 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Socar Petkim moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Adanaspor and Yesilgiresun. Pertevniyal at the other side dropped to the fifteenth position with 17 games lost. They share it with Afyon and Istanbul DSI. Socar Petkim will play against Yesilgiresun (#9) in Giresun in the next round. Pertevniyal will play at home against Mamak DSI (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
