Very expected game when 8th ranked Takamatsu FA (10-28) was crushed at home by first ranked Okinawa GK (32-6) 102-63 on Sunday. The game without a history. Okinawa GK led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Takamatsu FA's 38. Okinawa GK forced 24 Takamatsu FA turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Okinawa GK made 8 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of Trinidad and Tobago power forward Kibwe Trim (208-84, college: Sacred Heart) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds and guard Ryuichi Kishimoto (176-90) who added 15 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Okinawa GK players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Andrais Thornton (203-85, college: NW Missouri St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds and his fellow American import swingman Justin Watts (196-90, college: N.Carolina) scored 9 points and 9 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Okinawa GK have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 32-6 record, which they share with Hamamatsu P. and Kyoto Hannar. Takamatsu FA lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 28 games lost. Okinawa GK will face Osaka Evessa (#5) at home in the next round. Takamatsu FA will play against Shimane Magic and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
