No shocking result in a game when thirteenth ranked Unitri (8-18) defeated on the road bottom-ranked Rio Claro (6-21) 100-91. It looked good early as Rio Claro took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Unitri had a 23-19 second period charge getting the lead and Rio Claro was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 91-100. Unitri dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Rio Claro's 20 and made 23-of-28 charity shots (82.1 percent) during the game. Unitri forced 20 Rio Claro turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Unitri especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 64.7 percentage. Rio Claro was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for the former international Audrei Parisotto (196-84) who led his team to a victory with 19 points and 6 assists. Uruguayan forward Emilio Taboada (191-82) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Five Unitri players scored in double figures. point guard Eric Romualdo (185-83) answered with 22 points and 9 assists and Caio Ranches (192-87) added 27 points in the effort for Rio Claro. Rio Claro's coach Chui dos Santos rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Unitri maintains thirteenth place with 8-18 record. Rio Claro lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with 21 games lost. They share it with Liga Sorocaba. Unitri will play against league's second-placed Winner/Limeira on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
