The game between closely ranked teams ended with seventh ranked AZS UMCS's (6-9) home victory over 8th ranked AZS PGd (4-9) in Lublin 86-62 on Monday. The hosts trailed by 7 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 10-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 86-62. AZS UMCS dominated on the defensive end, holding AZS PGd to just 7 points in fourth quarter. They made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game. AZS PGd was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for forward Adam Mysliwiec (200-90) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 30 points and 15 rebounds. Forward Przemyslaw Luszczewski (195-80, agency: Promotex) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Mateusz Stawiak (202-96) answered with 14 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and guard Piotr Renkiel (190-87) added 13 points and 4 steals in the effort for AZS PGd. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted AZS UMCS maintains seventh place in Group E with 6-9 record. AZS PGd at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the eighth position with nine games lost. AZS UMCS will face higher ranked Asseco II (#6) in Gdynia in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. AZS PGd will play at home against AZS AGH Alstom and hope to win that game.
