Regular Season Round 30: Lourdes - St Chamond 70-64

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Saint Chamond (23-6) on the court of fifth ranked Lourdes-Tarbes on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Lourdes-Tarbes 70-64. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Saint Chamond. The hosts trailed by 9 points after three quarters before their 28-13 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Power forward Pierre Pelos (205-92) scored 25 points and 8 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and Lithuanian-American guard Andrius Ragauskas (188-79, college: CS Los Angeles) chipped in 16 points during the contest. Lourdes-Tarbes' coach Alex Casimiri used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was power forward Jean-Stephane Rinna (198-83) with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds and center Maxime Chupin (205-89, college: Cal-Irvine) scored 12 points. Lourdes-Tarbes (19-11) moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Vichy. Saint Chamond at the other side still keeps top position with six games lost. Lourdes-Tarbes is looking forward to face Vendee Challans (#6) on the road in the next round. Saint Chamond will play against ADA Blois (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
