Very important is a home loss of second ranked Gorica (1-2) against fifth ranked KK Split (2-2) on Saturday night. Host Gorica was defeated by KK Split in a tough game in Velika Gorica 77-83. Gorica was ahead by 3 points at the halftime before a 47-38 second half run of KK Split. They made 21-of-27 charity shots (77.8 percent) during the game. Gorica was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Guard Jakov Mustapic (193-94) notched 16 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the effort and forward Toni Dijan (205-83, agency: PEPI SPORT) supported him with 11 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. KK Split's coach Jaksa Vulic allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 14 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists by point guard Roko Rogic (185-92) did not help to save the game for Gorica. Bosnian center Barisa Krasic (203-78) added 17 points and 7 rebounds. Five KK Split and four Gorica players scored in double figures. KK Split moved-up to third place in Places 9-13. Newly promoted Gorica dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. KK Split will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Gorica will play on the road against the league's leader Ribola Kastela (#1) in Kastela Sucurac to get more than just one victory in their record.
