Regular Season Round 16: Gorgan - Sanaye 87-61

Date: April 27, 2015
Rather expected game when 6th ranked Sanaye (5-9) was smashed on the road by fourth ranked Shahrdari Gorgan (8-6) 87-61. The game was mostly controlled by Shahrdari Gorgan. Sanaye was better in third quarter 22-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Shahrdari Gorgan forced 20 Sanaye turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Courtney Pigram (185-85, college: E.Tenn.St.) who helped to win the game recording 31 points and the former international Pouya Tajik (201-80) who added 18 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. Four Shahrdari Gorgan players scored in double figures. Shahrdari Gorgan's coach Asadollah Kabir felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side Montenegrin power forward Ivan Todorovic (214-84, agency: Interperformances) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds and American-Italian point guard Anthony Raffa (185-89, college: Co.Carolina, agency: HMS) scored 26 points and 4 steals. Shahrdari Gorgan maintains fourth position with 8-6 record. Sanaye lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with nine games lost. Shahrdari Gorgan will play against Samen (#8) in Mash'had in the next round. Sanaye will play on the road against Mahram in Tehran and hopes to get back on the winning track.
