BV Chemnitz 99 was not able to use a home court advantage and was smashed by the opponent from Jena 85-55 on Saturday night. Science City Jena forced 21 BV Chemnitz 99 turnovers. Forward Julius Wolf (202-93) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds. Five Science City Jena players scored in double figures. Science City Jena's coach Bjoern Harmsen felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Center Martin Seiferth (208-90, college: E.Washington) produced 17 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and American point guard Virgil Matthews (188-83, college: Montana, agency: Court Side) added 7 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists respectively for lost side. Science City Jena will face Hamburg at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. BV Chemnitz 99 will play against Kirchheim Knights and hope to win that game.
