Regular Season Round 1: Neptunas - Nevezis 77-66

Host Neptunas (1-0) defeated Nevezis (0-1) 77-66. The game was mostly controlled by Neptunas. Nevezis was better in fourth quarter 20-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Neptunas dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Nevezis' 22. American power forward Jerai Grant (203-89, college: Clemson) nailed 11 points for the winning side and international guard Mindaugas Girdziunas (188-89) accounted for 11 points and 4 assists. point guard Darius Gvezdauskas (191-88) came up with 21 points and forward Vaidotas Volkus (203-85, college: Redlands CC) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Nevezis in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Neptunas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Nevezis will play at home against P.Zvaigzdes to get more than just one victory in their record.
