Regular Season Round 2: Nevezis - P.Zvaigzdes 73-78

There was no surprise in Kedainiai where Nevezis (0-2) was defeated by P.Zvaigzdes (2-0) 78-73 on Saturday. Nevezis trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 27-21 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 73-78 at the end of the game. P.Zvaigzdes dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Nevezis' 28 and made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Nevezis 55-35 including a 20-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Power forward Giedrius Staniulis (205-91) had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Jokubas Gintvainis (193-94) chipped in 17 points and 5 assists during the contest. American forward Taylor King (203-88, college: Concordia Irvine, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with 9 points and 12 rebounds and American-Liberian point guard Saah Nimley (173-93, college: Charleston So.) scored 16 points. Four Nevezis players scored in double figures. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
