Regular Season Round 2: Oita H.Devils - Fukuoka Rizing 84-106

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Oita Heat Devils (0-1) at the home court. Hosts were rolled over by Fukuoka Rizing (1-0) 106-84. The game was mostly controlled by Fukuoka Rizing. Oita Heat Devils was better in fourth quarter 25-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Fukuoka Rizing made 16-of-21 charity shots (76.2 percent) during the game. American players dominated the game. Forward Bingo Merriex (206-80, college: TCU) had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Josh Peppers (201-85, college: Cent.Florida) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Five Fukuoka Rizing players scored in double figures. Fukuoka Rizing's coach Tomohiro Moriyama felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds and forward Patrick Simon (203-92, college: Seattle Pacific) scored 22 points and 7 rebounds. Fukuoka Rizing will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Oita Heat Devils will play again at home against Fukuoka Rizing to get more than just one victory in their record.
