The most surprising game was a loss of Levice (1-1) in Komarno on Wednesday night. Visitors were rolled over by Rieker KN (1-1) 109-73. The game without a history. Rieker KN led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Rieker KN forced 22 Levice turnovers and outrebounded them 37-23 including 17 on the offensive glass. 24 personal fouls committed by Levice helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The former international Roman Vido (204-88) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Czech forward Filip Halada (198-92) contributed with 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Five Rieker KN players scored in double figures. American forward George Valentine (203-88, college: Winthrop, agency: Mansfield and Associates) replied with 6 points and 10 rebounds and the former international guard Milan Ziak (190-88) added 15 points in the effort for Levice. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Rieker KN is looking forward to face Inter Bratislava on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Levice will play against Slavia Kosice and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
