Regular Season Round 3: Lietkabelis-2 - Mazeikiai 57-79

Mazeikiai (3-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed Lietkabelis-2 (1-2) in Panevezys 79-57. The game without a history. Mazeikiai led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Lietkabelis-2's 30. Mazeikiai forced 21 Lietkabelis-2 turnovers. It was a quality performance for guard Evaldas Saulys (195-93) who led the winners and scored 20 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Sarunas Vingelis (192-89) accounted for 17 points for the winning side. Power forward Gediminas Zalalis (205-95) came up with 16 points and 6 rebounds and guard Tadas Buinauskas (196-88) added 10 points respectively for Lietkabelis-2 in the defeat. Lietkabelis-2's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Mazeikiai will play against Silute at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Lietkabelis-2 will play against Nafta-Uni. in Klaipeda and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
