Regular Season Round 3: CDE Talca - Puente Alto 80-75

There was a small surprise when Espanol de Talca (1-2) defeated at home Puente Alto (1-2) 80-75. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 21-16. But Puente Alto won second period 16-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Espanol de Talca players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was a good game for Nigerian-American forward Bayo Arigbon (197-86, college: San Diego Chr.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Pablo Barraza (184-94) contributed with 27 points and 4 assists for the winners. American guard Louis Munks (190-90, college: Prairie View A&M) answered with 25 points and 5 rebounds and forward Franco Garrido (181-86) added 8 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Puente Alto. Puente Alto's coach Mauricio Flores tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Espanol de Talca's next round opponent will be Colo Colo in Santiago and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
