Regular Season Round 2: Granada - Cambados 91-89

A very close game took place in Granada between CB Granada and Cambados. CB Granada (2-0) got a very close home victory over Cambados (1-1). CB Granada managed to escape with a 2-point win 91-89 on Saturday evening. The hosts trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 26-20 charge, which allowed them to win the game. CB Granada outrebounded Cambados 51-30 including a 24-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. American forward Duane James (196-83, college: Binghamton, agency: Duran International) had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international center Jesus Fernandez (204-75) chipped in 16 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. James is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Cape Verdean-Portuguese forward Joel Almeida (195-85, college: Brockport St.) responded with 15 points and 9 rebounds and center Alberto Rodriguez (206-75) scored 13 points and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Cambados' coach Miguel Angel Hoyo let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. CB Granada will meet Blancos de Rueda in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Cambados will play against Moron and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
