Balikesir used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Edirne 80-72 on Saturday night. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. American players dominated the game. It was a very good performance for forward Mike Davis (205-88, college: Illinois) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds. Point guard D.J. Thompson (173-85, college: Appalachian St.) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Four Balikesir players scored in double figures. Balikesir's coach Mete Babaoglu used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Marshall Moses (198-89, college: Oklahoma St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds and point guard Leemire Goldwire (184-85, college: Charlotte, agency: HMS) added 23 points in the effort for Eskisehir Basket. Balikesir will face Mamak DSI in Ankara in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Eskisehir Basket will play at home against Final Genclik and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the BSL just one year after relegation.
