Regular Season Round 4: AZS UMCS - MKK Siedlce 82-42

Very expected game when 10th ranked MKK Siedlce (1-3) was smashed by fourth ranked AZS UMCS (3-1) in Lublin 82-42 on Saturday. The game without a history. AZS UMCS led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding MKK Siedlce to just 5 points in third quarter. AZS UMCS forced 22 MKK Siedlce turnovers and outrebounded them 44-24 including a 28-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for Ukrainian forward Katerina Dorogobuzova (190-90) who helped to win the game recording 18 points (perfect from downtown making all five shots). American power forward Destiny Williams (185-91, college: Baylor) contributed with 12 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four AZS UMCS players scored in double figures. AZS UMCS's coach Krzysztof Szewczyk felt very confident using 11 players saving starting five for next games. American center Marie Malone (189-89, college: Hofstra) replied with 5 points and 8 rebounds and forward Magdalena Koperwas (177-93) added 9 points in the effort for MKK Siedlce. AZS UMCS have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Artego Bydg. Loser MKK Siedlce dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. AZS UMCS will face bottom-ranked Widzew (#12) in Lodz in the next round and are hoping to win another game. MKK Siedlce will play at home against Artego Bydg. (#3) and hope to win that game.
