Regular Season Round 4: Takamatsu FA - Oita H.Devils 95-89

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Takamatsu FA and 9th ranked Oita Heat Devils had identical 1-1 record. This time Takamatsu FA used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Oita 95-89 on Saturday night. Oita Heat Devils were trailing by 7 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 25-18 charge of Takamatsu FA, which allowed them to win the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The game was also dominated by American players. Forward Nino Johnson (206-93, college: SE Missouri St.) fired a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 17 rebounds (on 16-of-21 shooting from the field) for the winners. Power forward Anthony Kent (208-83, college: Ball St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists. Forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) produced a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds and forward Patrick Simon (203-92, college: Seattle Pacific) added 14 points and 13 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Oita Heat Devils' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Takamatsu FA (2-1) moved-up to third place, which they share with 6 other teams. Loser Oita Heat Devils dropped to the seventh position with two games lost. Takamatsu FA will face again Oita Heat Devils (#9) at home in the next round where they are favorite.
