Regular Season Round 3: EWE Baskets - Bayreuth 87-82

Date: October 11, 2015
No shocking result in a game when EWE Baskets (2-1) beat BBC Bayreuth (0-3) in Oldenburg 87-82 on Sunday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 87-82. EWE Baskets looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. BBC Bayreuth was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American Vaughn Duggins (190-87, college: Wright St.) who led his team to a victory with 20 points and 6 assists. His fellow American import swingman Rickey Paulding (196-82, college: Missouri) contributed with 16 points and 4 assists for the winners. Four EWE Baskets players scored in double figures. American guard Travis Leslie (193-90, college: Georgia) answered with 20 points and 7 rebounds and American-Cape Verdean point guard Jeffrey Xavier (189-85, college: Providence) added 18 points in the effort for BBC Bayreuth. EWE Baskets will face EnBW Ludwigsburg on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. BBC Bayreuth will play against Mitteldeutscher BC (#18) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
