Niigata R. forced the game against Toyota B SR into an overtime, but lost by two points 68-70 on Sunday night. The game took place in Tokyo. But the guests from Aichi were better at the end. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 21-13 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 4-2. Toyota B SR forced 19 Niigata R. turnovers. Power forward Sari Osabe (174-87) notched a double-double by scoring 18 points, 17 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals to lead the effort and swingman Tomomi Ikeda (169-88) supported her with 15 points. Even 18 points and 6 rebounds by forward Inoue Ai (172-90) did not help to save the game for Niigata R.. Power forward Mei Chi (175-90) added 16 points and 7 rebounds for the hosts. Toyota B SR will meet at home Mitsubishi K. (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Niigata R. will play against Chanson V-M and hope to win that game.
