Regular Season Round 5: Takamatsu FA - Oita H.Devils 91-86

There was no surprise when 9th ranked Oita Heat Devils (1-3) lost on the road to sixth ranked Takamatsu FA (3-1) 91-86 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 6 points at the halftime before their 48-37 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Takamatsu FA made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Point guard Masaaki Suzuki (176-87) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists. American forward Nino Johnson (206-93, college: SE Missouri St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 18 rebounds for the winners. American forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import forward Patrick Simon (203-92, college: Seattle Pacific) added 18 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Oita Heat Devils. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Oita Heat Devils' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Takamatsu FA moved-up to second place, which they share with 5 other teams. Loser Oita Heat Devils dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. Takamatsu FA will face Hiroshima L. (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
