Regular Season Round 7: Aomori Watts - Toyama Grouses 94-76

There was a small surprise when ninth ranked Aomori Watts (1-2) beat at home 6th ranked Toyama Grouses (2-3) 94-76 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 31-12 charge, which allowed them to win the game. American guard Nile Murry (193-83, college: TCU) fired 24 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. His fellow American import power forward Paul Williams (208-83, college: St.Bonaventure, agency: I.D.S. Law) chipped in 20 points and 9 rebounds. Four Aomori Watts players scored in double figures. American forward Duke Crews (203-88, college: Bowie St.) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and Joho Masashi (183-82) added 21 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Aomori Watts maintains ninth place with 1-2 record, which they share with Shinshu BW. It was Toyama Grouses' third loss in a row. They dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. Aomori Watts will face again higher ranked Toyama Grouses (#7) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
