Regular Season Round 8: Okinawa GK - Bambitious Nara 75-64

The game had a very big importance for fifth-ranked Okinawa GK as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Okinawa GK defeated bottom-ranked Bambitious Nara at home 75-64. Bambitious Nara was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. They outrebounded Bambitious Nara 43-31 including 31 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American Anthony McHenry (202-83, college: Georgia Tech) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import guard Draelon Burns (194-85, college: De Paul) who added 10 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four Okinawa GK players scored in double figures. Trinidad and Tobago power forward Julius Ashby (208-82, college: Colorado) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Tatsuya Tatsuya (169-91) scored 16 points and 4 assists. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Bambitious Nara at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost. They share the position with Saitama Bron.. Bambitious Nara will play next round against Fukuoka Rizing trying to get back on the winning streak. Okinawa GK will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Osaka Evessa on the road.
