Regular Season Round 8: Fukushima - Gunma 77-63

Rather predictable result when third ranked Fukushima (5-1) won against at home 5th ranked Gunma (3-3) 77-63 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 10 points after first quarter, but they stormed back winning two of next three quarters and won the game by 14 points. American players dominated also this game. Swingman Le'Bryan Nash (201-92, college: Oklahoma St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points and 7 rebounds. Power forward Joseph Taylor (202-85, college: Wyoming) contributed with 9 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Mike St.John (203-84, college: La Salle, agency: Global Sports Plaza) replied with 9 points and 21 rebounds and forward Thomas Kennedy (201-87, college: Detroit Mercy) added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Gunma. Fukushima have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 5-1 record behind leader Okinawa GK. Gunma lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth place with three games lost. Fukushima will face league's leader Sendai 89ers on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Gunma will play against the league's second-placed Niigata Albirex and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
