Regular Season Round 2: Elitzur Ashkelon - Hapoel Kazrin 93-91

A very close game took place in Ashkelon between Ironi Ashkelon and Hapoel Kazrin. Ironi Ashkelon (2-0) got a very close home victory over Hapoel Kazrin (0-2). Ironi Ashkelon managed to escape with a 2-point win 93-91 on Tuesday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. American power forward Germain Jordan (198-86, college: Dillard) had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 17 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Dominique Keller (205-88, college: Illinois) chipped in 21 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. Keller is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Ironi Ashkelon's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Swingman Rum Cornelius (197-93) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Ron Sabag (182-90) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 assists and 4 steals. Four Ironi Ashkelon and five Hapoel Kazrin players scored in double figures. Ironi Ashkelon will meet Elitzur Yavne on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Hapoel Kazrin will play against Ironi Kiryat Ata (#6) and hope to win that game.
