Regular Season Round 5: Leipzig - Noerdlingen 84-83

The most exciting game of round 5 in the ProB took place in Leipzig. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 6th ranked Giants (2-3) to seventh ranked USC Leipzig (3-2) 84-83 on Saturday evening. USC Leipzig made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was forward Sascha Leutloff (202-82) who scored 27 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. American power forward Julian Scott (203-90, college: Adams St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds. USC Leipzig's coach Tuna Isler used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Jordan Talbert (198-91, college: Missouri So.) produced 22 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import guard Brandon Lockhart (185-90, college: Drury) added 19 points respectively for the guests. Four Giants players scored in double figures. USC Leipzig have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place in South, which they share with 3 other teams. Giants lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the eighth position with three games lost.
