Regular Season Round 4: Cieszyn - Zaglebie 73-89

There was a surprise result when ninth ranked Zaglebie (2-2) defeated on the road one of their biggest challengers Cieszyn (2-2) 89-73 on Saturday. Zaglebie made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game. Cieszyn was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of center Piotr Wojdyr (217-90, agency: Promotex) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 18 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and Piotr Osiakowski (197-92) who added 22 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Five Zaglebie players scored in double figures. At the losing side center Tomasz Czajkowski (204-82) responded with 15 points and 6 rebounds and guard Grzegorz Szybowicz (186-86) scored 11 points and 4 assists. Cieszyn's coach Lukasz Kuboszek tested ten players seeing no chance for a win. Zaglebie moved-up to fifth place in Group C, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Cieszyn. Zaglebie will face higher ranked AZS PS Gliwice (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Cieszyn will play against Pogon RS and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
