Regular Season Round 5: Quintanar - Torrelodones 73-58

Very expected game when bottom-ranked Torrelodones (0-2) was defeated on the road by leader Quintanar (2-0) 73-58 on Saturday. The game without a history. Quintanar led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Quintanar outrebounded Torrelodones 39-26 including a 28-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Torrelodones' players. Chadian center Placide Nakidjim (205-94) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and Cuban point guard Taylor Garcia (182-87) chipped in 19 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Pedro Robles (192-77) responded with 14 points and forward Javier Salson (199-82, college: Bloomfield) scored 6 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Quintanar keeps a position of Group B leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Newly promoted Torrelodones still closes the standings with two games lost. Quintanar will face Real Canoe (#3) in Madrid in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Torrelodones will play at home against La Roda (#8) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
