Regular Season Round 5: Cassino - Venafro 91-64

Very predictable result when sixth ranked Cassino (4-1) smashed at home 13th ranked Venafro (1-4) 91-64 on Saturday. They outrebounded Venafro 41-24 including 27 on the defensive glass. Cassino looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Swingman Giovanni Ausiello (192-87) stepped up and scored 24 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 7 steals for the winners and power forward Luca Ianes (203-80, agency: SPORTlab Agency) chipped in 16 points and 13 rebounds. Four Cassino players scored in double figures. Cassino's coach Luca Vettese felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Naturalized Libyan guard Mohamed Loughlimi (195-87) responded with 30 points and 8 rebounds and guard Mario Tamburrini (187-94) scored 11 points and 6 assists. Cassino moved-up to second place in B, which they share with Bergamo and Crema. Loser Venafro dropped to the fourteenth position with four games lost. Cassino will face Fondi (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Venafro will play against Palestrina and hope to win that game.
