Regular Season Round 6: Hanau - Dragons 87-62

White Wings' fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after five consecutive loses. They used home court advantage to defeat Dragons Rhoendorf (0-6) 87-62 on Saturday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. White Wings dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Dragons Rhoendorf's 18 and made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Dragons Rhoendorf 41-28 including a 41-28 advantage in defensive rebounds. American players dominated the game. Guard Miles Jackson-Cartwright (190-92, college: Pennsylvania) notched a double-double by scoring 23 points, 13 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the effort and forward Kruize Pinkins (201-93, college: USF) supported him with 22 points and 8 rebounds. Even 24 points by point guard Sterling Carter (183-90, college: Purdue) did not help to save the game for Dragons Rhoendorf. Forward Antoine Davis (195-91, college: Carson-Newman) added 16 points and 5 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. White Wings (1-5) left bottom position moving up to fifteenth place. It was Dragons Rhoendorf's sixth loss in a row. Dragons Rhoendorf at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with six games lost. White Wings will meet league's second-placed Science City Jena on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Dragons Rhoendorf will play against Baunach (#12) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
