Quite upsetting was Hamamatsu Phoenix's (#4) home defeat in a game versus seventh ranked Shimane Magic who edged hosts 64-62. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Hamamatsu Phoenix. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The guests trailed by 13 points after three quarters before their 26-11 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Americans were the main players on the court. The best player for the winners was center Wayne Marshall (211-86, college: Temple) who scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Scootie Randall (198-90, college: Temple) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds.
