Regular Season Round 9: Takamatsu FA - Shiga L-Stars 55-112

Very significant was Shiga L-Stars' (#2) 57-point road victory against 5th ranked Takamatsu FA 112-55. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game without a history. Shiga L-Stars led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Takamatsu FA's 46. They outrebounded Takamatsu FA 56-37 including a 42-27 advantage in defensive rebounds. Shiga L-Stars players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Takamatsu FA's players. Zimbabwean-American Julian Mavunga (203-90, college: Miami, OH) nailed a double-double by scoring 19 points, 17 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side and American guard Kejuan Johnson (193-85, college: Long Beach St., agency: Inception Sports) accounted for 22 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Five Shiga L-Stars players scored in double figures. Shiga L-Stars' coach Tohyama Kohto felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Nino Johnson (206-93, college: SE Missouri St.) came up with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 19 rebounds and 5 blocks and the other American import forward Jarvis Williams (198-89, college: Minn.St.-Mankato) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Takamatsu FA in the defeat. Shiga L-Stars (5-2) keep a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Takamatsu FA at the other side dropped to the fourth place with three games lost.
