Cecina outrebounded Faenza 51-24 including a 38-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Forward Francesco Fratto (198-91) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds for the winners and forward Antonio Gambolati (205-81, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 10 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Giovanni Penserini (193-88) responded with 10 points and 5 assists and forward Emanuele Pini (-95) scored 9 points and 4 assists. Cecina maintains first place in B with 5-0 record. Newly promoted Faenza keeps the eighth position with three games lost. Cecina will face Trecate (#17) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them.
