The most surprising game was the first loss of Leche Rio Breogan (3-1) in Coruna on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by fourteenth ranked Leyma Basquet (1-3) 71-62. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Leche Rio Breogan. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 29-14. But Leche Rio Breogan won third quarter 21-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Leche Rio Breogan 40-28 including a 31-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Georgian Beka Burjanadze (202-94) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 9 rebounds and center Sergio Olmos (213-86, college: Temple) who added 14 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) during the contest. Leyma Basquet's coach Tito Diaz used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side naturalized Senegalese power forward Mamadou Samb (210-89) responded with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Alejandro Lopez (189-91) scored 16 points and 4 assists. Leyma Basquet left bottom position moving up to eleventh place, which they share with 3 other teams. Leche Rio Breogan at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. They share it with 5 other teams. Leyma Basquet is looking forward to face higher ranked Palma (#8) in S'Arenal in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Leche Rio Breogan will play on the road against Ourense (#9) and is hoping to win this game.
