Regular Season Round 8: Nova Ves - Nitra 64-77

Nitra's fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after six consecutive loses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Nova Ves, where they defeated Nova Ves (0-7) 77-64. The game was mostly controlled by Nitra. Nova Ves was better in fourth quarter 24-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Nova Ves 47-33 including 33 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of Serbian forward Filip Pejovic (198-89, college: Erskine) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 28 points and 14 rebounds and Serbian guard Filip Simic (185-90, agency: Beo Basket) who added 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Nitra's coach Peter Seman allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Guard Daniel Lenart (188-88) responded with 22 points and 7 rebounds and forward Tomas Osvald (194-88) scored 7 points and 6 rebounds. Nitra maintains eighth position with 1-6 record. It was Nova Ves' seventh loss in a row. They still close the standings with seven games lost. Nitra will play against league's leader Prievidza at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Nova Ves will play against Rieker KN (#3) in Komarno and hope to get finally their first victory.
