Regular Season Round 4: Kavala - Apollon Patras 72-91

Apollon Patras can celebrate their first win this season after three consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Kavala, where they outplayed Kavala (1-3) 91-72. The game was mostly controlled by Apollon Patras. Kavala was better in second period 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Petty is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American forward Maurice Kemp (203-91, college: E.Carolina) replied with 17 points and Dominican center Eloy Vargas (211-88, college: Kentucky) added 17 points in the effort for Kavala. Four Kavala players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Apollon Patras left bottom position moving up to ninth place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Kavala. It was Kavala's third loss in a row. Apollon Patras will play against league's second-placed Panathinaikos in Athens in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Kavala will play on the road against the league's leader AEK Athens (#1) having rather not much hope for a victory.
