Regular Season Round 12: Shimane SM - Okinawa GK 54-59

BJ League top team - Okinawa GK (7-2) added another victory to their record on Sunday. This time they beat seventh ranked Shimane Magic (5-5) 59-54. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Shimane Magic won fourth quarter 20-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American power forward Evan Ravenel (203-89, college: Ohio St.) who scored 18 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Shigeyuki Kinjo (182-84) chipped in 12 points. Okinawa GK's coach Tsutomu Isa used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Scootie Randall (198-90, college: Temple) who recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Josh Davis (203-91, college: San Diego St.) added 6 points, 16 rebounds and 6 blocks respectively. Okinawa GK have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 7-2 record. Shimane Magic lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth place with five games lost. They share the position with 4 other teams. Okinawa GK will meet at home Fukuoka Rizing (#7) in the next round where they are favorite.
