Regular Season Round 11: Rieker KN - Levice 69-57

An interesting game for Rieker KN (8-2) which hosted in Komarno 4th placed Levice (7-3). First ranked Rieker KN managed to get a 12-point victory 69-57. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Levice. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Rieker KN. Levice was better in second period 17-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Rieker KN won last quarter 26-16. Rieker KN outrebounded Levice 39-28 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American guard Bernard Thompson (190-93, college: FGCU) who led his team to a victory scoring 15 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Nigerian-American forward P.J. Alawoya (203-88, college: McNeese St., agency: Inception Sports) helped adding 18 points and 10 rebounds. Alawoya is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Rieker KN players scored in double figures. The former international guard Milan Ziak (190-88) responded with 13 points and 6 assists and Serbian-Hungarian Momcilo Latinovic (198-89, college: N.Mexico Highlands, agency: Mansfield and Associates) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. Rieker KN have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 8-2 record, which they share with Prievidza. Levice at the other side dropped to the third position with three games lost. They share it with Inter Bratislava and Slavia Kosice. Rieker KN will play against Inter Bratislava (#5) at home in the next round. Levice will play against Slavia Kosice and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
