Regular Season Round 6: Polonia W-wa - Stal SW 54-76

Everything could happen in Warszawa at the game between two tied teams. Both eleventh ranked Stal SW and 10th ranked Polonia W-wa had identical 1-4 record. But Polonia W-wa was not able to use a home court advantage and was rolled over by the opponent from Stalowa Wola 76-54 on Saturday night. Stal SW forced 25 Polonia W-wa turnovers. It was a good game for guard Sylwester Konieczny (180-91) who led his team to a victory with 17 points and 6 rebounds. Point guard Rafal Partyka (184-79) contributed with 14 points for the winners. Four Stal SW players scored in double figures. Power forward Filip Kober (200-93) replied with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and forward Daniel Nieporedzki (192-94) added 15 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Polonia W-wa. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Stal SW (2-4) moved-up to sixth place in Group B, which they share with 5 other teams. Loser Polonia W-wa dropped to the twelfth position with five games lost. Stal SW will face Tur Bielsk Pdl. (#11) in Bielsk Podlaski in the next round where they are favorite. Polonia W-wa will play on the road against LKS Lodz and hope to win that game.
