Very expected game when 12th ranked Oita Heat Devils (1-9) were rolled over at home by sixth ranked Shimane Magic (6-5) 96-67 on Saturday. Shimane Magic dominated on the defensive end, holding Oita Heat Devils to just 6 points in fourth quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Oita Heat Devils' 44. They outrebounded Oita Heat Devils 49-29 including a 33-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Scootie Randall (198-90, college: Temple) fired a double-double by scoring 26 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. His fellow American import forward Josh Davis (203-91, college: San Diego St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 16 rebounds. Five Shimane Magic players scored in double figures. American forward Patrick Simon (203-92, college: Seattle Pacific) produced 17 points and 9 rebounds and guard Toshino Tatsuhiko (185-88) added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Shimane Magic maintains sixth place with 6-5 record, which they share with Iwate Big Bulls and Kanazawa Samuraiz. Oita Heat Devils lost eighth consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh position with nine games lost. Shimane Magic will have a break next round. Oita Heat Devils will play again at home against Shimane Magic (#6) and hope to win that game.
