Regular Season Round 5: Start Lublin - AZS Koszalin 60-73

Very predictable result when tenth ranked AZS Koszalin (3-3) won against 15th ranked MKS Start (1-5) in Lublin 73-60 on Saturday. MKS Start was trailing by 7 points at halftime but managed to get 4-point lead after three quarters before a 26-9 charge of AZS Koszalin, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to MKS Start's 26. They outrebounded MKS Start 46-27 including 33 on the defensive glass. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when AZS Koszalin made 8 blocks. Czech Patrik Auda (206-89, college: Seton Hall) orchestrated the victory by scoring 14 points and 6 rebounds. American point guard A.J. Walton (184-90, college: Baylor) contributed with 4 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. American guard Nick Kellogg (190-91, college: Ohio) answered with 14 points and 6 rebounds and power forward Marcin Salamonik (202-83) added 5 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for MKS Start. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. AZS Koszalin moved-up to ninth place. MKS Start lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the fifteenth position with five games lost. AZS Koszalin will face higher ranked Anwil (#4) in Wloclawek in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. MKS Start will play on the road against Slask (#12) in Wroclaw and hope to win that game.
