Regular Season Round 2: Halychyna - Hoverla 83-71

Hoverla (0-1) recorded a loss in Lviv. Visitors were defeated by Halychyna (1-0) 83-71. It looked good early as Hoverla took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Halychyna had a 27-23 second period charge getting the lead and Hoverla was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 71-83. They outrebounded Hoverla 44-32 including 29 on the defensive glass. Halychyna players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. American guard Larry Hall (190-83, college: W.Oregon) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 9 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals. Point guard Illya Shemosiuk (188-85) contributed with 18 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American-Jamaican guard Dante Williams (191-87, college: E.Tenn.St.) replied with 26 points and 5 assists and Viktor Lyuldurai added 14 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Hoverla. Halychyna will play against Budivelnyk (#5) in Kyiv in the next round. Hoverla will play at home against Dnipro to get more than just one victory in their record.
