Regular Season Round 14: Osaka Evessa - Takamatsu FA 83-75

There was no surprise when 9th ranked Takamatsu FA (4-8) lost on the road to third ranked Osaka Evessa (9-3) 83-75 on Sunday. Takamatsu FA trailed by 11 points at halftime and as many as 14 after three quarters before a 21-15 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 75-83 at the end of the game. Osaka Evessa looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Nigerian-Canadian Olu Ashaolu (200-88, college: Oregon) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 29 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field). Guard Narito Namizato (172-89) contributed with 9 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners. Osaka Evessa's coach Dai Oketani allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Nino Johnson (206-93, college: SE Missouri St.) replied with 17 points and 9 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Jarvis Williams (198-89, college: Minn.St.-Mankato) added 20 points in the effort for Takamatsu FA. Four Takamatsu FA players scored in double figures. Osaka Evessa have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Hamamatsu P. and Sendai 89ers. Takamatsu FA lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with eight games lost. Osaka Evessa will face Kyoto Hannar. (#5) on the road in the next round.
