Very important is a road loss of second ranked CB Granada (4-2) against fifth ranked Sammic ISB (4-2) on Sunday night. Visiting CB Granada was defeated by Sammic ISB in Azpeitia 83-71. The game was mostly controlled by Sammic ISB. CB Granada was better in fourth quarter 22-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Sammic ISB forced 23 CB Granada turnovers. French-American forward Jordan Semple (201-92, college: Chico St.) scored 11 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and swingman Ibon Guridi (193-92) chipped in 12 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was American forward Duane James (196-83, college: Binghamton, agency: Duran International) with 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international center Jesus Fernandez (204-75) scored 18 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sammic ISB moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated CB Granada. Sammic ISB will play against Moron (#4) in Morón de la Frontera in the next round. CB Granada will play at home against Clinicas Rincon and hopes to get back on the winning track.
