Regular Season Round 7: Miedzychod - Gornik Walbrzych 73-78

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Gornik (6-1) won against on the road 4th placed Miedzychod (4-3) 78-73 on Saturday. Gornik made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for point guard Rafal Glapinski (183-82) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points and 5 assists. Rafal Niesobski (189-82) helped adding 19 points. At the losing side Marcin Chodkiewicz (200-82, agency: Promotex) responded with 18 points and 4 assists and swingman Jakub Nowak (188-89) scored 18 points. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Gornik. They maintain second place in Group D with 6-1 record despite having the same number of points like the leader Kotwica. Loser Miedzychod dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Gornik will face AZS PP (#8) in Poznan in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Miedzychod will play on the road against Gniezno and hope to win that game.
