Regular Season Round 7: Moron - Sammic ISB 83-68

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Sammic ISB (4-3) against fourth ranked Moron (5-2) on Saturday night. Visiting Sammic ISB was defeated by Moron in MorĂ³n de la Frontera 83-68. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Moron. Sammic ISB was better in fourth quarter 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Sammic ISB 39-28 including 25 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Rafael Rufian (184-82) who led the winners and scored 16 points and 6 assists. American forward Mike Phillips (201-91, college: Howard) accounted for 18 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Five Moron players scored in double figures. Croatian center Aleksandar Marcius (209-90, college: De Paul) came up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and Norwegian Nikolas Skouen (193-90, college: Pepperdine, agency: Duran International) added 13 points respectively for Sammic ISB in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Moron moved-up to second place, which they share with Granada and Lucentum. Sammic ISB at the other side dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. They share it with Marin. Moron will play against Clinicas Rincon (#11) in Malaga in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Sammic ISB will play at home against Zornotza (#10) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
