Regular Season Round 11: CD Puerto Varas - CD Valdivia 78-82

Another exciting game for Deportivo Valdivia (5-5) which played on the court of CD Puerto Varas (4-6). Fifth ranked Deportivo Valdivia won 82-78. It looked good early as CD Puerto Varas took a 11-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Deportivo Valdivia took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 4 points. It was a great evening for the former international point guard Erik Carrasco (181-83) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). The former international guard Sebastian Suarez (193-91, college: Portland St.) helped adding 19 points. The former international forward Gerardo Isla (201-91, college: Columbia, MO) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds and American guard Jay Hook (193-93, college: Tulane) scored 19 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Deportivo Valdivia moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams. CD Puerto Varas at the other side dropped to the eighth position with six games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Deportivo Valdivia will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. CD Puerto Varas will play again on the road against Deportivo Valdivia (#4) and hope to get back on the winning track.
