Regular Season Round 8: Gandia Basquet - Sagunto 86-63
Date: November 14, 2015
No shocking result in a game when top-ranked Gandia Basquet (6-0) outleveled at home 9th ranked Sagunto (1-5) 86-63 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Gandia Basquet. Sagunto was better in fourth quarter 18-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Sagunto to just 7 points in first quarter. Gandia Basquet forced 26 Sagunto turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Daniel Marti (203-89, college: Union, TN) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Kevin Navarro (178-92) who added 11 points during the contest. Worth to mention Marti played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped get the job in pro basketball. Forward Alejandro Alcaniz (192-89) responded with 15 points and 9 rebounds and Francisco Franco (-96) scored 12 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Gandia Basquet have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group E with 6-0 record. Newly promoted Sagunto dropped to the eighth place with five games lost. Gandia Basquet will face UCAM Murcia II (#6) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Sagunto will play against Valencia-2 and hope to win that game.
