Regular Season Round 10: Vytautas - Nevezis 79-85

The most important game in the last round took place in Prienai between third ranked Vytautas (6-3) and ninth ranked Nevezis (3-6) on Saturday night. Vytautas was defeated by Nevezis in a tough game at home 79-85. Vytautas trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 24-17 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 79-85 at the end of the game. American forward Taylor King (203-88, college: Concordia Irvine, agency: Octagon Europe) had a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and center Mindaugas Kupsas (217-91, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Nevezis' coach Ramunas Cvirka used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side international point guard Sarunas Vasiliauskas (187-89) responded with 25 points and 5 assists and power forward Vaidas Cepukaitis (207-89, agency: Interperformances) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds. Five Nevezis and four Vytautas players scored in double figures. Nevezis moved-up to seventh place. Vytautas at the other side keeps the third position with three games lost. Nevezis are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Dzukija (#10) in Alytus in the next round. Vytautas will play at home against Juventus (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
