There was an upset when higher ranked Palermo (5-3) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked Empoli (4-4) 62-51 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was forward Filippo Mascagni (195-93) who had a double-double by scoring 10 points and 15 rebounds. Forward Matteo Samoggia (196-90) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Riccardo Antonelli (203-88) produced 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks and naturalized Argentinian center Federico Requena (204-86, agency: Players Group) added 6 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Palermo's coach Gianluca Tucci tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Empoli moved-up to seventh place in B, which they share with 3 other teams.
